Golden, starchy and smiley; everyone remembers their first smiley potato. Mine was probably served up as a school dinner, but it will always be one of those things nostalgic things that flood back childhood memories. Frozen food company Birds Eye, are attempting to reconnect with the current youth of today by jazzing up the smiley faces. By adding social media symbols such as hashtags, 'at' signs and asterisks, Birds Eye are attempting to communicate with digital savvy kids through their lunch. Personally I think it's a great idea to get kids to eat something, but why not try this with healthy food like fruit and veg? Either way I'll be in the queue to try out these potato hashtags, see you in the freezer isle!
