It's that time of year again where your most sparkly and glamorous pieces are brought out for a season of festive fun. It's an unofficial fact that Christmas is for partying, drinking, eating and looking fabulous. But with so many parties to go to in can be difficult to know what to put together, especially considering the cold, rainy unpredictable English weather.
Debenhams have put together a competition to create a mood board of a party outfit for the festive season, drawing inspiration for their party wear selection. I have kept the weather in mind, mainly because I'm always cold! I like to stand out from the crowd and fell in love instantly with the gorgeous, poppy red colour of the one shoulder jumpsuit by Michelle Keegan for Lipsy. It not only keeps your legs warm, but accentuates your waist and skims over the lower body. Being a Christmas colour, red also suits the majority of people and will ensure you stand out from an office party full of black and navy dresses.
Accessories are kept simple with black suede court shoes from Faith, featuring gold detailing which matches the jewellery. The closed toe shoes are also perfect for keeping your feet dry, when getting out of the taxi to and from the party. The black feather clutch bag by Julien MacDonald adds a fashionable twist to the look, by embracing the current fur trend. The amazing feather clutch bag also adds contrast in texture against the suede shoes and crepe jumpsuit. Even if you buy one item this festive season, make it the feather clutch bag as it instantly updates your outfit!
The jewellery provides subtly glamour, as not to attract away from the jumpsuit and feather clutch. The delicate matching drop earrings and bracelet run with the subtle gold theme in the shoes and handle of the clutch. In my opinion a necklace wouldn't be ideal to wear with the jumpsuit, as it would interfere with the one shoulder detail. Keep it simple with statement earrings.
To finish the look off, a slick of red lipstick adds instant glamour. Why would you not wear red lipstick for the festive season?
