Two weeks ago, I won tickets to London Fashion Weekend with Myspace and Levi's which I attended with Nathan at Somerset House. It was exciting because I had never won anything before and the tickets included seats to the catwalk trend show and VIP entry to an exclusive performance by new up and coming singer Lucy Rose.
The catwalk show kicked off with presenter Caroline Flack introducing short videos of the trends before the models took to the runway. The three trends were created using a mixture of designers shown at London Fashion Week, styled to emulate current popular Autumn Winter 2012 trends. Using masculine silhouettes from Stella McCartney as inspiration, 'Sergeant Indigo' drew on muted military tones such as greys, blacks and khakis for an easy, smart look. 'Kitchen Chic' reflected a bold, fun sixties vibe, clashing prints and textures with vibrant accessories. House of Holland for Pretty Polly tights were incorporated in to most of the looks, which featured an oversized dog tooth design in bright colours such as bolt blue and tropical pink. Of the three trends presented, the one that stood out for me was the elegance of 'Lady Brocade' which shone through the layering of textures and delicate silhouettes. Lace capes were teamed with fur trimmings and satin skirts, whilst tights were decorated with gold embellishment and brocade detail.

The Lucy Rose performance was at the Levi's pop up store inside Somerset House, we were given VIP wristbands which enabled us to sip on free cocktails throughout the performance! I had only heard a couple of Lucy Rose's songs prior to the performance, but she blew me away with her soulful lyrics and delicate voice. Whilst she was singing, Nathan ordered me a complicated cocktail which involved the cocktail shaker and ended up making alot of noise! We apologised afterwards as we had the chance to meet her and she was so lovely! I look forward to hearing more of her music and I have since bought her album, which I recommend.
