'Final Act' - Ian Strange

Merging together different mediums for his solo exhibition 'Final Act' (2013), visual artist Ian Strange has incorporated four abandoned houses in Christchurch, New Zealand in to his latest project. Left abandoned for demolition after the 2011 earthquake in New Zealand, these homes are part of 16,000 located in the 'Red Zone'. Strange has used the these suburban homes to reconstruct beautiful light installations and document the project using photography and film, in collaboration with cinematographer Alun 'Albol' Bollinger. The project is Strange's 'ongoing exploration of the social and emotional icon of the home'. Check out 'Final Act' at Canterbury Museum, Christchurch until 23rd March 2014, if your about in New Zealand.
